Seo Chae-hyun of North Face and the Seoul City Hall, Korea's leading women's sport climbing athlete, won the bronze medal in the Lead institutional sector at the sixth stop of the 2026 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Climbing Series. Lead is an event in which climbers try to ascend a wall higher than 15 meters as far as possible within a set time.
In the women's Lead final held in Innsbruck, Austria, on the 22nd (Korea time), Seo Chae-hyun, 23, posted 36+, finishing third behind Slovenia's Janja Garnbret, 27, with 44, and the United States' Annie Sanders, 19, with 38+.
Seo Chae-hyun reached the podium in all three Lead events held this season (stops 2, 5 and 6). Including her results in last season's Lead events, she has stood on the podium at four straight competitions.
Seo Chae-hyun took bronze in Wujian, China, in May (stop 2) and won silver in Prague, Czech Republic, in June (stop 5). Last year, she earned silver in Koper, Slovenia, in September (stop 13).
