Korea's men's national soccer team announced the starting lineup on the 19th (Korean time) for the Group A second match of the 2026 North and Central America World Cup against Mexico.
As in the earlier match against Czechia, Son Heung-min (34, LA FC) will start as a lone striker, and the team rolled out a back-three defensive scheme.
Kim Min-jae (30, FC Bayern Munich) anchors the middle, with Lee Gi-hyeok (26, Gangwon FC) and Lee Han-beom (24, FC Midtjylland) on either side.
At left wingback, Kim Moon-hwan (31, Daejeon Hana Citizen) starts, and at right wingback, Seol Young-woo (32, FK Crvena Zvezda) was selected.
In the earlier match against Czechia, the team used Lee Tae-seok (24, FK Austria Wien) as the left wingback, but for the Mexico game it chose the more experienced Kim Moon-hwan.
In central midfield, Hwang In-beom (30, Feyenoord Rotterdam) and Baek Seung-ho (29, Birmingham City FC) are deployed, with Lee Jae-sung (34, 1. FSV Mainz 05) and Lee Kang-in (25, Paris Saint-Germain FC) on the flanks.
Goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu (36, FC Tokyo) starts. Oh Hyeon-gyu (25, Beşiktaş JK), who scored the comeback goal against Czechia, was named to the bench.
Mexico, missing captain César Montes due to a red card in the first match, deployed former central midfielder Edson Álvarez as a defender.
