YouTuber Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) spoke out after the key figure in a large-scale virtual asset hacking incident used his photo without permission.
On the 17th, Kwak Tube wrote in English on his social media (SNS), "I am a Korean YouTuber. I have never even tried coin," and "He stole my photo."
He then added in Korean, "Of all things, I end up a victim of coin scam impersonation," and "I am not making a coin. Of all families, the Kwaks." He also posted a screenshot from Terrence Kwak's SNS that used his photo.
Terrence Kwak is the chief executive officer (CEO) of a virtual asset project called Humanity Protocol. The Humanity Token issued by the project was recently attacked by a hacker.
The token had been trading around 1,290 won, but after the hacking incident, the price plunged more than 80%, and investors reportedly suffered losses amounting to tens of billions of won.
As a result, investors' complaints poured in, and Terrence Kwak changed his SNS profile photo to Kwak Tube's picture and disappeared.
Humanity Protocol said an employee's laptop was infected with malware, causing a secret key to leak, but the reason Terrence Kwak changed the photo was not disclosed.
However, when overseas virtual asset investors began posting captured images of Terrence Kwak's profile photo on SNS to criticize the Humanity Protocol situation, Kwak Tube moved to clarify.
