A man in his 30s with a weapon injured himself at a protest to blockade the ballot-counting site at Olympic Park in Songpa District, Seoul, and was taken to a hospital.
According to Yonhap News and Newsis on the 17th, a report came in around 10:30 p.m. that a man with a weapon was in front of Gates 1–3 of the Olympic Park Handball Arena in Songpa District, Seoul.
The man reportedly cut his own arm while confronting police with a weapon.
The man was restrained by police at the scene and transported to a hospital by fire authorities. His life was not in danger, according to reports.
Police plan to check the circumstances of the incident, including why he possessed the weapon and whether there were any threatening acts, as soon as his condition improves.
Meanwhile, a blockade protest at the ballot-counting site condemning the shortage of local election ballots has continued around the Olympic Park Handball Arena for the 13th day.
