Yoon & Yang LLC said on the 16th that it will hold a seminar titled "Korea at a turning point: tasks and opportunities for corporations" with The Federation of Korean Industries.
The seminar will be held at 2 p.m. on Jul. 2 at the Yoon & Yang Training Center on the 34th floor of ASEM Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The seminar is designed to help corporations systematically review the direction of state affairs and the legislative environment for the second half of the year amid rapidly changing political and economic conditions, and to prepare preemptive response strategies.
A Yoon & Yang representative said, "In the latter half of the 22nd National Assembly, reform legislation pursued so far in areas such as the economy, labor, and fair trade will get into full swing," adding, "For corporations, the need for an accurate understanding of government policy and the National Assembly's legislative direction and for preemptive legal responses is high."
Kim Tae-nyeon, chairperson of the Democratic Party of Korea Special Committee on National Balanced Growth, will give a special lecture in Session 1 of the seminar. Chairperson Kim will focus on changes in the political and economic environment after the June 3 local elections, prospects for forming the National Assembly's standing committees, and the key economic legislative direction of the Lee Jae-myung administration.
In Session 2, three Yoon & Yang senior advisors who previously held high-ranking public office will present, by sector, trends in legislative and regulatory moves in the latter half of the 22nd National Assembly and response plans for corporations.
Senior Advisor Lim Seo-jeong, a former Vice Minister at the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), will examine the trend of amendments to labor unions and corporations' collective bargaining and HR–labor response strategies. Senior Advisor Park Jin-kyu, a former 1st Vice Minister at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, will address changes in U.S. tariff and trade policy and legislative directions for strategic industries such as semiconductors, energy, and shipbuilding. Senior Advisor Shin Young-ho, a former standing commissioner of the Korea Fair Trade Commission, is expected to look into sanction trends and fair trade legislative developments in platforms, distribution, and subcontracting.
Hong Jeong-seok, head of Yoon & Yang's GRC Group, who planned the seminar, said, "With the formation of the National Assembly's standing committees ahead, the scale of change in the legislative and regulatory environment facing corporations is greater than ever," adding, "This seminar is intended to help not only corporate legal teams but also external relations, strategic planning, and PR personnel preemptively grasp the policy directions of the government and the National Assembly and prepare practical response strategies."
Participants can register in advance on the Yoon & Yang website until 10 a.m. on the 30th, and there is no participation fee.
