Lee & Ko said on the 8th that it has hired Choi Dae-hyun, former senior executive vice president of Korea Development Bank (KDB), as an adviser. Choi also served as CEO of KDB Investment.
Choi joined Korea Development Bank in 1992 and led large-scale corporate finance, restructuring, and project financing (PF) while holding key posts including head of the corporate finance division (vice president) and senior executive vice president. From 2022 to 2026, Choi served as CEO of KDB Investment, contributing to revitalizing the private investment ecosystem and expanding strategic investment in innovative corporations.
A Lee & Ko official said, "Drawing on Choi's experience as head of the Korea Development Bank (KDB) private equity fund operations team and as a resident officer in Vietnam, Choi has expertise and networks across the full cycle of private equity funds (PEFs)—from formation and management to exit—as well as in overseas direct investment."
The official added, "Amid an increasingly complex financial regulatory environment, we expect to provide clients with more systematic and strategic services for high-difficulty financial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity fund formation and management, and overseas expansion investments."
Kim Sang-gon, managing partner at Lee & Ko, said, "Choi has exceptional insight and hands-on experience that span both public finance and the private investment market," adding, "In a rapidly changing financial environment, this will be a strong asset in providing client companies with strategic solutions grounded in business fundamentals, going beyond simple legal advice."
