Yoon & Yang LLC said on the 5th that it has hired attorney Ryu Ji-hyun, a former senior constitutional researcher at the Constitutional Court (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 35), as a partner.
After completing the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 2006, Ryu served as a judge at the Suwon District Court and the Seoul Central District Court. Starting in 2009, Ryu worked at the Constitutional Court as a constitutional researcher. Ryu served as head of the institutional research team at the Constitutional Adjudication Research Institute and as a senior constitutional researcher, handling constitutional adjudication procedures, case review, and institutional research.
Yoon & Yang plans to strengthen its capabilities in adjudication complaints, constitutional litigation, and regulatory advisory with Ryu's recruitment. An adjudication complaint refers to a procedure that challenges whether a court's judgment itself infringes on basic rights by making it the object of a constitutional complaint. Unlike ordinary civil or criminal litigation, constitutional issues and constitutional adjudication procedures must be reviewed together, requiring a separate response strategy.
At Yoon & Yang, Ryu is expected to handle constitutional litigation, including adjudication complaints, and regulatory advisory work. In the course of corporate disputes or regulatory responses, Ryu will review issues in advance such as basic rights under the Constitution, the principle of equality, and the principle of proportionality, and will likely propose response plans that consider both ordinary litigation and constitutional adjudication procedures.
Yoon & Yang operates an adjudication complaint task force (TF) centered on attorneys who have worked at the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. Participants include former Supreme Court Justice Lee In-bok, who has experience as a constitutional researcher, attorney Park Sang-hoon, a former presiding judge, managing partner Lee Jun-sang, managing partners Lee Min-gul and Lee Dong-geun, both former high court presiding judges, and attorney Park Su-jeong, a former Supreme Court judicial researcher.
