Law firm Jipyong said on the 1st that it has hired Song Hyeon-tak, a former prosecutor at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office Dongbu Branch.
A member of Judicial Research and Training Institute class 44, Attorney Song served as a prosecutor for about 11 years. Song worked at the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office, the Public Investigation Department of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, the Corporate and Labor Crime Division of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office, and the Financial and Economic Crime Division of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office Dongbu Branch.
Attorney Song mainly handled corporate criminal cases and labor cases such as industrial accidents in the Suwon and Busan regions, where national key industries and large corporations are concentrated. Song also investigated public investigation and anti-corruption cases, including a bribery case involving executives and employees of a financial institution, a donation case involving a general election campaign committee chair, and a bribery case involving a former National Assembly member.
Going forward, Attorney Song will handle advisory and investigation response work in corporate crime, labor, finance, and public investigation at Jipyong's criminal group.
Park Jeong-su, head of Jipyong's criminal group, said, "With Attorney Song Hyeon-tak joining, we expect our capabilities in corporate crime, financial crime, and public investigation to be further strengthened," adding, "Based on diverse practical experience, we will provide clients with practical and strategic criminal defense services."
Jipyong's criminal group is centered on attorneys who previously served in the courts, prosecution, and police. It operates specialized teams by field, including the Serious Accident Response Center, the Financial and Securities Crime Response Center, the Taxes and Finance Crime Response Center, the Digital Forensics Center, and the Virtual Asset Crime Response TF.
Jipyong also launched the "June 3 local election response center" in March. From the election commission's inquiry stage through police and prosecution investigations to trial, it provides Public Official Election Act advisory services and response services for election-related investigations and trials.
