On May 5, the Han River Bus recorded the highest monthly number of passengers on record.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on the 2nd that the Han River Bus carried 91,126 passengers last month.
Han River Bus ridership has been steadily increasing since service resumed on all sections in March. Starting with 62,491 in March and 76,488 in April, it increased by about 15,000 each month through May. During the same period, the average daily number of passengers rose by about 1.5 times, from a little over 2,000 to around 2,900.
In particular, after full-service resumption, the single-day peak on May 1 reached 5,584 passengers. Also, there were seven days when the daily average exceeded 5,000 passengers: Apr. 25–26; May 1–2, 5, and 24–25.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said the Han River Bus, which began official service in Sep. last year, is steadily gaining users and establishing itself as a stable new waterborne transportation mode. Cumulative Han River Bus ridership has surpassed 330,000 to date.
User satisfaction also appeared high. In a survey of 3,115 Han River Bus riders conducted Apr. 6–13, about 96% of respondents said they were satisfied with the service. About 94% said they would recommend it to acquaintances, and 89% said they intended to use it again, was found.
Park Jin-Young, head of the Future Han River Headquarters of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "We will continue to improve service quality, including providing safe and convenient service and expanding routes, so the Han River becomes the city's go-to mode of transportation that citizens use even more often."
