Donations from the fan club are continuing ahead of singer Lim Young-woong's birthday. They set the donation amount at 6.16 million won, symbolizing his June 16 birthday, to support children with cancer, people with disabilities, and low-income groups.
According to the entertainment industry on the 2nd, Lim Young-woong's fan club "Freshmen Gathering Hero Sarangbang" recently delivered a 6.16 million won donation to Hanbit, a childhood cancer NGO registered with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, to mark Lim Young-woong's 36th birthday. The funds will be used to operate a shelter for children and adolescents with cancer and their families.
Members of Hero Sarangbang said, "We chose to donate as a way to celebrate the birthday, not only to cherish the love we received from the artist but also to share with neighbors marginalized in society." They added, "Just as Lim Young-woong conveys comfort and warmth with songs on stage, Hero Sarangbang will put continuous sharing into practice starting with this first step."
The 6.16 million won donation in honor of Lim Young-woong's birthday is continuing at other regional fan clubs as well. Lim Young-woong's fan club "Hero Era Jeju Woong Love Woong Aroi Room" delivered 6.16 million won to Jeju Disabled Nursing Home, a residential facility for people with severe disabilities, on the 31st. "Hero Era Yeosu Woong Sarangbang" also donated 6.16 million won to Yeosu on the 19th. The Yeosu donation will be used to support local low-income families and social welfare facilities through the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea.
Lim Young-woong is also maintaining strong momentum in fandom metrics. According to Idol Chart, Lim Young-woong received 315,234 votes in the fourth-week-of-May ratings ranking tallied from May 25 to 31, placing first for the 270th straight week. "Likes," a gauge of fandom size, were also the highest at 32,571.
Lim Young-woong's concert videos are also increasing in views. The live concert video of "Don't go," released on Lim Young-woong's official YouTube channel on Mar. 13, recently surpassed 3 million views. The video captures an impromptu request segment from the "IM HERO TOUR 2" performance held in Busan on Feb. 8.
Lim Young-woong is scheduled to hold a solo concert, "IM HERO - THE STADIUM 2," at Goyang Sports Complex in September.
