A festival themed on roses will be held for the first time at Imsil Cheese Theme Park in North Jeolla. At the rose garden, where about 150 varieties and 22,000 roses have been planted, performances and hands-on events will be held alongside food programs using Imsil cheese.
Imsil County said on the 27th that it will hold the "2026 Imsil N Rose Festival" from the 28th to the 31st in and around the rose garden at Imsil Cheese Theme Park.
This festival is the first rose-themed festival presented by Imsil County. The venue covers about 65,000 square meters, with about 150 varieties of roses, hydrangeas and various flowering plants. Imsil County expects the roses to be at their peak during the festival.
The rose garden at Imsil Cheese Theme Park is a space that combines a four-season rose garden and a European-style garden. Visitors can stroll through the garden to admire the flowers and take photos.
During the festival, both viewing events and participatory programs will be offered. These include the street parade "Rose Parade," the street performance program "Rose Street Art Show," and "Imsil N Proposal Day," in which families and couples can take part.
Programs for families with children will also operate. The venue will feature the "Secret Jouju and Tobot Pop-up Store" and an experiential space called "Rose Village."
A performance schedule is also included. The opening show on the 29th will feature Lee Chan-won, Son Tae-jin, Jeon Yu-jin, Kim Da-hyun and Shin Yu. On the 30th, the "Rose Concert" will be held with musical actors Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho, a married couple, and a symphony orchestra. On the same day, a live open radio broadcast will also take place, featuring singer Sim Soo-bong, as well as Beomjin and Punch.
Food events using Imsil cheese are also prepared. Master baker patissier Kim Jin-seo, patissier Kim Gyu-rin and the Korea Young Chef Culinary Group will take part in baking demonstrations and tastings using Imsil N Cheese. On-site, there will also be a tasting of burrata bread made with Imsil Morella and Gouda cheese.
A hometown love donation program promotion booth will operate at the festival grounds. During the festival, those who donate 100,000 won or more can receive a tax credit along with cheese gifts, an Imsil cheese pizza and a rose bouquet set. Those who make a designated donation of 200,000 won or more to the youth archery talent development support program will also receive a gas voucher.
Imsil County Mayor Sim Min said, "As this is the first year we are holding the rose festival, we have prepared programs that couples and families can enjoy together," adding, "We will establish Imsil Cheese Theme Park as a tourist destination where visitors can enjoy both roses and cheese."
