Rain is expected nationwide on the 26th. In particular, strong rain accompanied by gusts and thunder and lightning is forecast for Jeju and the southern coast, requiring preparations against damage to facilities and flooding.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, it is currently raining mainly in the mountainous areas of Jeju and in South Jeolla, with a heavy rain warning in effect for Jeju's mountains and a heavy rain advisory issued for the rest of Jeju and South Jeolla.
Expected rainfall is 250 mm or more in Jeju's mountains and 150 mm or more along the southern coast. Downpours of around up to 50 mm per hour are expected.
Up to 80 mm of rain is also forecast for other areas including Seoul. Strong winds are also expected nationwide, with gusts around 15 meters per second.
Morning lows started somewhat higher than the previous day at 21.8 C in Seoul and 20 C in Daegu, but daytime highs are expected to be 27 C in Seoul and 26 C in Gwangju and Pohang, 2 to 5 degrees lower than the previous day.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said clearer weather will return in the latter half of the week, with temperatures gradually rising.
