Pastor Jun Kwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church claimed he advised former President Yoon Suk-yeol on declaring martial law when Yoon was president-elect. Jun also said Yoon "declared martial law on the wrong date."
Jun appeared by video on the 24th at the "Gwanghwamun national Sunday joint service" held in front of the Dongwha Duty Free Shop in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and said, "Before Yoon took office, when he was president-elect, I said in a dream that Yoon Suk-yeol would be impeached," adding, "I called the former president and said, 'You will definitely be impeached.'"
Jun said, "The former president asked, 'Who will impeach me?' and I said, 'North Korea will impeach you,'" adding, "I also asked to assign just one commissioner of the Korean National Police Agency."
He went on, "Because the commissioner of the Korean National Police Agency has many subordinates, I specifically told him to fire tear gas, pretend to defend, then pretend to be pushed back, and if the presidential office is occupied, then declare martial law at the Hannam-dong safe house," adding, "But he declared martial law on the wrong date, so he has suffered a lot himself."
Jun said, "We must see that the Republic of Korea has already been taken over by North Korea," adding, "We must make offerings diligently no matter what to protect the Republic of Korea."
Jun also claimed he sent a book he wrote to the former president. He said, "When I sent the book I wrote to the former president, through a lawyer he said, 'Pastor, how can you preach so well?'" adding, "If only the former president had listened to my sermons earlier, he wouldn't have gone to jail, and he wouldn't have declared martial law."
Jun's remarks were broadcast live on YouTube that day. However, as of 3 p.m. that afternoon, about three minutes containing the remarks had been deleted from the YouTube replay video.
Jun pleaded not guilty in the case in which he is on trial for incitement to trespass in a specially constructed building. He has been on trial on charges of inciting protesters to storm the court during the so-called "Seobu District Court disturbance" on Jan. 19.
Jun said, "Two witnesses requested by the prosecution appeared, and they said they had neither met nor seen Jun Kwang-hoon," adding, "A 100% acquittal is inevitable." He continued, "The next witnesses are three police officers requested by the prosecution," adding, "Through cross-examination, we must smash them."
