On the 25th, an alternative holiday for Buddha's Birthday and a Monday, rain is expected mainly in the southern regions and Jeju Island. On the 26th, the rain will expand to most parts of the country, with some areas seeing heavy and significant rainfall.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 24th, Jeju Island and the southern coast will see occasional rain from the early morning of the 25th. From the night, the rain is forecast to expand to the Jeolla region and western South Gyeongsang.
On the 26th, rain is expected in most parts of the country. In the Seoul metropolitan area, heavy rain may concentrate from the morning to nighttime on the 26th, and in Gangwon Province and the Chungcheong region, from the afternoon to nighttime.
Expected rainfall from the 25th to the 26th is 50–150 mm on Jeju Island and 30–80 mm in northern Jeju. Heavy rain of 80–150 mm is forecast for the southern coast of South Jeolla, areas near Jirisan Mountain, and the southern coasts and areas near Jirisan Mountain in Busan and South Gyeongsang, respectively.
Gwangju–South Jeolla and Ulsan–South Gyeongsang are expected to receive 50–100 mm, and North Jeolla 30–80 mm of rain. On the 26th, expected rainfall in central regions is 50–100 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area and 30–80 mm each in Gangwon Province and the Chungcheong region.
In areas with rain, there may be thunder and lightning accompanied by gusty winds. Visibility may be reduced by rain and roads may be slippery, so extra caution is needed for traffic safety.
Temperatures will remain near or slightly above average for the time being. However, they are expected to drop somewhat from the afternoon of the 26th. During this period, the average temperatures are morning lows of 11–16 C and daytime highs of 22–27 C.
Morning lows on the 25th are forecast at 12–18 C, with daytime highs of 23–30 C. On the 26th, when people return to their routines after the holiday, morning lows are expected at 18–22 C and daytime highs at 20–25 C.
Through the 25th, the temperature difference between day and night will widen to around 15 degrees, mainly inland. The Korea Meteorological Administration urged the public to take care of their health due to the large daily temperature range.
