A training light aircraft crashed while flying in Haenam, South Jeolla, injuring two people, including an instructor and a trainee.
According to the South Jeolla Fire Headquarters on the 23rd, at about 3:10 p.m. that day, a light aircraft (DA40NG) crashed in a forest near Seokgyo-ri, Munnae-myeon, Haenam County, South Jeolla.
In the accident, a trainee in her 20s, identified as A, and an instructor in his 20s, identified as B, who were aboard the light aircraft, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital by fire authorities. As of now, A was rescued conscious, while B was reported to be unconscious.
The light aircraft affiliated with Chodang University took off from Muan International Airport in South Jeolla at about 2:40 p.m. and was en route to Sani Airfield in Haenam County, about 40 kilometers away in a straight line.
The Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board is expected to lead the investigation into the exact circumstances, including the cause of the crash.
