The National Fire Agency said on the 21st that it signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in fire and disaster management with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.
Under the memorandum, the two sides agreed to pursue cooperation in areas such as firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical service technologies, as well as joint training programs, seminars, workshops, and technology demonstrations. They also agreed to share scientific and technological information in fire services and disaster risk management, and to strengthen cooperation in the fire industry through technical collaboration and standards sharing.
Minister Azizbek Ikramov visited EXCO in Daegu, where the country's largest fire industry expo, the "International Fire Safety Expo 2026," is being held, and discussed cooperation with National Fire Agency Administrator Kim Seung-ryong.
Minister Ikramov said, "Korea's advanced fire system, training, and experience in fire equipment will greatly help Uzbekistan's fire modernization and efforts to strengthen disaster response capabilities."
Administrator Kim said, "Based on this agreement, we will work closely so that Korea's disaster response system and the fire industry's strong technological capabilities can make a practical contribution to Uzbekistan's fire modernization process."
