A man in his 30s who walked into a restaurant pretending to be a delivery worker and fled with delivery food was arrested by police. He was found to have a prior record of committing the same crime multiple times at the same store using the same method.
Seoul Dongjak Police Station said on the 18th that a man in his 30s, identified as A, was booked on suspicion of theft and that it is currently investigating.
A is suspected of stealing delivery food, including pizza and chicken, from a pizza shop in Dongjak District, Seoul, at dawn on the 10th and fleeing.
At the time, A entered the store wearing a motorcycle helmet and walked out with food that had been left in the pickup zone where delivery workers take orders, it was found.
According to police, A had already been sent to prosecutors in January on suspicion of stealing delivery food three times from the same restaurant.
After receiving the report, police analyzed the restaurant's internal CCTV footage and other materials to identify A and arrested A on the 12th.
Police plan to summon A again soon to question A about the exact course of the crime and motive, then review whether to seek an arrest warrant.
