Singer MC MONG signaled a public exposé on various allegations and conflicts in the entertainment industry surrounding him. With a management dispute at Onehundred and controversy over affiliated entertainers leaving the company continuing, he stepped forward to state his position directly.
On the 18th, MC MONG wrote on his social media, "At 8 p.m. today, I will invite reporters to a TikTok live and talk about past events and everything related to me."
He said, "I also intend to fully explain who PD Notebook has been colluding with in its reporting," adding, "I will expose that group including construction businessman Chairperson Cha Jun-young, and even the entertainers connected to him."
MC MONG co-founded the entertainment agency Onehundred in 2023 with Chairperson Cha-won of p_Arc Group but left the company in July last year. It is known that Cha Ga-won is currently operating the company alone.
Cha Ga-won was recently questioned by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crimes Investigation Unit on suspicion of fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. The allegation is that, after proposing joint ventures to industry figures under the banner of affiliated entertainers' intellectual property (IP) and receiving advances, the business was not carried out. The complainants claim the damage amounts to about 30 billion won.
Cha Ga-won's side reportedly countered in the police inquiry that the complaint was "an attempt at a hostile merger and acquisition (M&A) of Onehundred," characterizing it as a management control dispute. It was also conveyed that they claimed MC MONG and Cha Jun-young colluded to attempt a takeover of management rights.
Amid this, Taemin, Lee Seung-gi, and The Boyz, who had been affiliated with Onehundred, left the company citing settlement issues, intensifying the controversy.
MC MONG has also been embroiled in rumors of an affair with Cha Ga-won and suspicions of proxy prescriptions for zolpidem, a psychotropic drug.
Regarding the affair rumors, he denied them, saying, "I swear I have never had such an improper relationship." On the suspicions of proxy prescriptions for zolpidem, he explained, "I go to the hospital myself every day and get it prescribed in my name," and "I have never received even a single pill from my manager," while also saying, "I may have received about one or two pills."
