On Sunday the 17th, heat is expected to grip the country, with daytime highs climbing above 30 degrees.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows are forecast at 12–19 degrees and daytime highs at 26–33 degrees. That is higher than the average temperatures (lows 10–15 degrees, highs 21–26 degrees).
The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "It will be hot, especially in the southern Gyeongbuk region, with the maximum heat index rising to around 31 degrees."
It also forecast, "Because the UV index will be very high, be mindful of strong sunlight when going out by applying sunscreen regularly and using long-sleeved clothing or a hat."
With a high likelihood of heat-related illness, infants and toddlers, older adults, and people with chronic diseases should reduce time outdoors, and livestock farmers should pay attention to controlling temperatures in barns.
Also, for the time being, the daily temperature range will be large, around 15 degrees, mainly in inland areas nationwide.
Morning lows in major areas are Seoul 16 degrees, Incheon 15 degrees, Suwon 15 degrees, Chuncheon 14 degrees, Gangneung 18 degrees, Cheongju 15 degrees, Daejeon 16 degrees, Jeonju 15 degrees, Gwangju 15 degrees, Daegu 16 degrees, Busan 17 degrees, and Jeju 16 degrees.
Daytime highs are Seoul 29.5 degrees, Incheon 26 degrees, Suwon 27.3 degrees, Chuncheon 31.1 degrees, Gangneung 28.4 degrees, Cheongju 31.2 degrees, Daejeon 30.5 degrees, Jeonju 28.4 degrees, Gwangju 29.8 degrees, Daegu 33.1 degrees, Busan 24.3 degrees, and Jeju 24.6 degrees.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to be "good" to "moderate" across all regions.
