Boy band BTS will take the stage as a co-headliner for the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup final.
On the 14th (local time), Global Citizen and FIFA said BTS will serve as a co-headliner for the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup final, to be held July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
This is the first time a halftime show will be held during a World Cup final. FIFA and Global Citizen planned it for the first time with the aim of creating a stage that combines sports, music, and culture to unite the world.
BTS will appear as a co-headliner alongside U.S. pop star Madonna and Colombia's pop star Shakira. Madonna has hit songs such as "Borderline" and "Like a Virgin" and has won seven times at the Grammy Awards. Shakira is called the queen of Latin pop and was ranked No. 17 on Billboard's list of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century in 2024. At that time, BTS ranked No. 19.
Through its label BigHit Music, BTS said, "It is a great honor to stand on a meaningful stage where the whole world comes together," and added, "This World Cup is even more meaningful as we can share its message with global viewers and help expand educational opportunities for children."
