An elementary school student who stole a car and drove without a license was caught by police.
According to Yonhap News on the 13th, the Cheonan Dongnam Police Station arrested elementary school student A as a flagrant offender on suspicion of special theft and violating the Road Traffic Act (driving without a license) and is investigating.
A is suspected of stealing a car and driving it at about 7:20 a.m. that day in an underground parking lot of an apartment complex in Dongnam District, Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.
About an hour after receiving a stolen vehicle report, police searched the area after a series of 112 calls reported, "An elementary school student is driving a vehicle and circling the vicinity." They then chased the stolen car and arrested A as a flagrant offender.
Police believe there are two more peers who committed the crime with A and are tracking them as well. A and the accomplices are said to have opened the door of an unlocked vehicle, and when the engine started, fled in the car.
During the escape, there was an accident in which a facility was rammed, but there were no reported injuries.
Police plan to track the accomplices while questioning A in detail about the motive for the crime.
