The National Fire Agency said on the 11th that Administrator Kim Seung-ryong has embarked on "sales diplomacy" to help the fire industry expand overseas. Kim will visit Indonesia and Vietnam from the 12th to the 16th.
According to the National Fire Agency, Administrator Kim will discuss cooperation plans in Indonesia for the pilot introduction of the "Korean-style 119 emergency reporting system."
He will then sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam and is expected to discuss easing regulations and opening sales channels to help domestic fire products enter the local market.
The National Fire Agency said it expects the visit to serve as a catalyst for domestic fire corporations to enter the Southeast Asian market. It also plans to build a safety net so that Korean nationals living locally and travelers can receive swift and systematic assistance in emergencies.
Administrator Kim said, "Through continued proactive sales diplomacy, we will thoroughly protect the safety of overseas Koreans and steadily strengthen the global competitiveness of Korea's firefighting."
