Police have arrested 10 people so far on charges of spreading false information related to the Middle East situation.
Park Sung-ju, head of the National Office of Investigation (NOI) at the Korean National Police Agency, stated accordingly at a regular press briefing on the 11th. Five people were arrested in connection with claims about 900,000 barrels of crude oil flowing into North Korea, and five in connection with an emergency economic order (forced sale of dollars, currency exchange restrictions, etc.).
Police are currently investigating 38 accounts, centered on the metropolitan and provincial cyber investigation units. In addition, as a result of deletion requests for the accounts, posts from 21 accounts were deleted.
