A female office worker born in 1992 is drawing attention after sharing that she built an asset worth about 2.6 billion won through long-term investments in semiconductor stocks.
On a recent anonymous community for office workers, a post appeared from a woman identified as A, who introduced herself as a "sixth-year stock investor." A said, "I'm stunned that my asset has surpassed 2 billion won," as she revealed her current investment performance.
A described herself as coming from a "dirt spoon" background and said, "I kept two household ledgers and scraped together seed money like crap," adding, "In 2024, buying Samsung Electronics' high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and foundry when people said they were ruined and the share price was plunging helped a lot."
A emphasized "long-term investment" as an investment principle. A said, "I haven't sold a single share of semiconductor-related stocks," and added, "Over six years, there were some realized revenue portions, but the total principal invested is about 500 million won."
Online, reactions followed such as, "It's amazing to make 2 billion won in six years," "Long-term investing in semiconductors was the answer after all," and "I should work harder too."
