An employee and the head instructor of a taekwondo studio accused of trying to kill a husband with alcohol mixed with drugs have been arrested.
Judge Lee Hyo-seon of the Bucheon branch of the Incheon District Court issued arrest warrants on the 9th for A, a taekwondo studio head instructor in their 20s, and B, an employee in their 40s, who are suspected of attempted murder, after holding a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (substantive warrant review), saying there was a risk of destroying evidence or fleeing.
A and B are suspected of attempting to kill C, B's husband in his 50s, by storing a 1.8L plastic soju bottle containing drugs in a refrigerator at a dwellings in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, on the 25th of last month.
Police believe they planned the crime by targeting C's lifestyle habit of usually drinking alone. However, it was found that C did not drink the alcohol in question, so it did not lead to actual harm.
The case additionally came to light during the investigation after A was arrested in the act on Apr. 6 at about 6:30 p.m. on suspicion of special injury for allegedly wielding a weapon and injuring C at B's home. Police secured indications of conspiracy in text messages the two exchanged, then urgently arrested B and applied attempted murder charges to both.
