The Law School Student Council Alumni Association held a mentoring event for new lawyers and a general meeting.
On the 7th, according to legal sources, the alumni association held the "2026 Alumni Association New Lawyer Mentoring and General Meeting" the day before at the Korean Bar Association in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Kim Jeong-uk, president of the Korean Bar Association, Cho Sun-yeol, president of the Seoul Bar Association, Shin Gyeong-cheol, president of the alumni association, and new lawyers.
In congratulatory remarks, Kim said the legal market is in the midst of structural change. Cases are becoming more complex, and the spread of artificial intelligence (AI)-based services is also changing how lawyers work, he noted.
Kim said, "The capabilities now required of lawyers go beyond legal knowledge and are expanding to comprehensive thinking and communication skills that structure and solve problems," adding, "You need to set your own standards for which field to choose, how to deal with clients, and what values to uphold in your work."
Shin offered congratulations to those who passed the bar exam. Shin said, "The alumni association began as a group of lawyers who served as law school student council presidents, but it has now grown into a broader forum for exchange, including those who served as vice presidents, student council members, and class representatives," adding, "As you practice law, people ultimately become the greatest asset. I hope the connections you make today will become a positive force for one another going forward."
After the congratulatory remarks, attorney Son Won-woo led a "New Lawyer Career Seminar." Group mentoring followed for 30 new lawyers.
The alumni association is an organization launched to promote fellowship among law school graduates and to enhance their rights and interests. It currently has about 300 members.
