Assistant Deputy Director Choi Ji-ho, known as the successor to "Chungju Man," drew attention by releasing content celebrating 800,000 subscribers.
On the 5th, the "Chungju City" YouTube channel posted a video titled "Thank you for 800,000 subscribers | Humble Girl's low-profile talk."
Assistant Deputy Director Choi said, "Until the other day I was looking toward 1 million, but now it's already 800,000," adding, "All of this is thanks to you, the subscribers." This is seen as a self-deprecating way of describing the subscriber drop after Assistant Deputy Director Kim Seon-tae, the predecessor, resigned.
On thoughts about reaching 800,000, Choi said, "We somehow made it to 800,000, but it feels like we're just hanging on," adding with a laugh, "I think we'll soon hit 800,000 for the fourth time."
As for the secret to making content, Choi said, "When we die, we all become a handful of sand," adding, "It's important to live comfortably doing what you want to do."
Regarding future plans, Choi said, "I don't plan to voluntarily resign for YouTube," but joked, "If we hit 1 million, since that's the will of the subscribers, I'll follow the Head of Team and resign."
On Assistant Deputy Director Kim's resignation, Choi recalled, "It was a bit suspicious. The handover was done too well, and it felt like they trusted me completely," adding, "After the resignation, I thought, 'A disaster has arrived.'"
Asked whether there was ever a time they envied the Head of Team, Choi said, "We went through thick and thin together, editing and uploading videos side by side, and now it's become an income of tens of millions of won, even hundreds of millions of won," but added, "The level is so different that I'm not particularly envious. The Head of Team must have their own struggles, so I only wish them well."
