Influencer Yang Jeong-won, 37, who is suspected of quashing a fraud case by offering favors through her husband, appeared before prosecutors on the 30th.
It came a day after she appeared at Seoul Gangnam Police Station as a suspect following complaints filed by franchise owners of a Pilates academy for which she had worked as an advertising model.
The Financial and Securities Crime Joint Investigation Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors Office summoned Yang as a reference witness the same day in the case involving her husband, a person surnamed Lee, over alleged stock manipulation and efforts to quash the investigation.
Prosecutors were said to have questioned Yang about whether she knew of Lee's provision of favors and the stock manipulation allegations in connection with the police investigation targeting her.
There is also speculation that investigators will focus on whether Yang herself was involved in her husband's stock manipulation.
In 2024, Yang was repeatedly sued by franchise owners of a Pilates academy where she had served as an advertising model or as the owner of a directly managed branch, on charges including fraud.
The complainants claim Yang was actively involved in running the Pilates academy and was implicated in the headquarters' illegal acts, but Yang maintains she did not know the specific details of the business.
Prosecutors are currently investigating allegations that her husband, known as a wealthy individual, took part in stock manipulation and attempted to quash the police investigation into his spouse, Yang, while doing so. Lee is in custody.
The previous day, Yang arrived at the Gangnam station about an hour earlier than scheduled and said she would "faithfully cooperate with the questioning" and "definitely clarify what is unfair."
