Yongin city in Gyeonggi said on the 28th that it will hold a "Children's Day grand festival" at 10 a.m. on May 2 at the city hall outdoor plaza.
The festival will feature performances and hands-on programs, safety education, and a food zone that children and families can participate in and enjoy together.
The performances will begin with a K-pop children's dance show organized by the Yongin City Childcare Center Association. They will be followed by the family musical Cloud Bread, Yongin Little Lions, the Ground Operations Command military band, and an honor guard performance.
Yongin city will also operate various experience booths throughout the venue, including ▲ horseback riding ▲ topiary grass doll making ▲ traditional instrument experience ▲ police motorcycle experience ▲ kicking a ball ▲ art therapy counseling. Campaign booths such as a child mental health campaign and Yongin tourism will also be set up.
In addition, Yongin city plans to conduct Virtual Reality (VR) safety experiences, CPR and fire safety education, and traffic safety education in partnership with the Yongin Eastern Police Station, Yongin Fire Station, Yongin Western Fire Station, and Samsung Fire Mobility Museum.
Elsewhere, the sports zone will feature a mini amusement park, climbing, and coding robot controls, and 15 food trucks around the venue will offer a variety of foods.
A Yongin city official said, "We hope children will laugh to their hearts' content for a day, run around excitedly, and make many happy memories."
