In Yeosu, South Jeolla, a tour bus and a 1-ton truck collided on the 27th, leaving one person dead and 11 injured.
According to the Yeosu Police Station, the crash occurred at about 6:25 p.m. that day at an intersection in Bonggye-dong, Yeosu. A 1-ton truck going straight and a tour bus making a left turn collided.
At the time, the 1-ton truck carried a driver in his 60s, identified as A, and a woman in her 30s. The woman was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest and died.
The tour bus was driven by a driver in his 60s, identified as B, and 11 passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
Police booked bus driver B on suspicion of fatality under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents, and the exact cause of the crash is under investigation. However, both truck driver A and bus driver B were not driving under the influence or without a license, police said.
