Actor Mun Hee-kyung has lost her father.
On the 26th, Mun Hee-kyung shared her father's portrait on social media (SNS) and announced his passing.
Mun Hee-kyung said, "My father, who always took pride in having risked his life for Korea as a Marine Corps 3rd class member and a veteran of the Incheon Landing Operation and the Korean War (6·25), passed away at the age of 95."
She then disclosed his certificate of national merit and said, "I burst into tears at the phrase 'Korea does not forget' written on it."
Mun Hee-kyung said, "Father, who always wore your Korean War (6·25) veteran commemorative cap as if it were a sacred treasure," and added, "Now rest comfortably by Mother's side."
She added, "Due to Jeju's geographic characteristics, I felt sorry and did not share the obituary, yet I am sincerely grateful to those who offered condolences and sympathy."
Mun Hee-kyung debuted as a singer after winning the grand prize at the Riverside Song Festival in 1987. She has since worked as an actor.
