Actor Lee Nam-hee has died at 64.
According to the family on the 23rd, Lee Nam-hee died of a chronic illness at about 5 p.m. the day before.
Born in 1962, the deceased made a debut in 1983 with the play "Antigone" and then appeared in works including "Male Impulse," "Othello," "Urfaust," and "Death of a Salesman," taking the stage for more than 40 years. In 2024, in the Seoul Metropolitan Theatre Company's production "John," the deceased played the lead role, John Gabriel Borkman.
The deceased won the acting award from the Korea Theatre Association in 1998, the best actor award at the Korea Theatre Awards in 2011, and the acting award at the Dong-A Theatre Awards in 2012. Beyond the stage, the deceased also worked in films such as "The Priests" and "Steel Rain 2," and in the drama "Six Flying Dragons." The family said the deceased had not lost passion for the stage, preparing to appear in a play until recently.
The funeral hall has been set up in Room 15 at Severance Hospital, the funeral is on the 24th, and the burial site is the Seoul City Crematorium.
