Mom's Touch said that related procedures are underway regarding a customer rampage that occurred at one of its stores in Oct. last year.
The Mom's Touch headquarters said in a statement on the 20th, "The in-store customer rampage that is currently an issue in the media occurred at one of our franchises in Oct. last year, about six months ago," and added, "An investigation is underway by the police who were dispatched at the time, and related procedures are currently in progress."
Mom's Touch explained, "The franchise in question is under heavy psychological and business pressure as a past incident is again becoming a social issue." The headquarters also said that, if the franchise desires, it will actively provide guidance and consulting for legal reviews pursued by the franchise, acting responsibly as a business partner.
On the 19th, a video titled "The rude woman who overturns everything at Mom's Touch" was posted on various social media platforms (SNS). The video shows the incident began when a female customer demanded a drink refill. When the store refused the refill due to policy, the woman immediately shouted and protested. She then threw items around the register area and hurled verbal abuse at employees, causing a disturbance.
The woman later assaulted an employee. The video also captured her chasing a female employee, who had stepped back to avoid the violence, and striking her in the face. The woman's rampage was stopped by police who were dispatched after another customer at the store called it in.
