A woman in her 60s who fell asleep on coastal rocks near Daebu Island in Ansan, Gyeonggi, became stranded and was rescued by the Korea Coast Guard.
According to the Korea Coast Guard on the 21st, on the 20th the Pyeongtaek Maritime Police Station rescued a woman, identified as A, at 5:27 p.m. on the 19th after she fell asleep on coastal rocks near Bangameori Beach on Daebu Island and could not get out.
A was reported to have visited Daebu Island alone that day, climbed onto coastal rocks, and fallen asleep. While A slept, the tide came in and left A stranded, prompting a call for help, and a Pyeongtaek Korea Coast Guard rescue team was dispatched. The team used an unpowered rescue board to save A, who had been isolated on the rocks.
At the time of the rescue, A's health was not an issue. However, A showed signs of distress, including the loss of some belongings, and was sent home after calming down.
