The National Fire Agency said on the 21st that it will hold the interview test, the final hurdle for hiring new firefighters for 2026. It will run for six days from the 26th to the 21st at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Daejeon Convention Center in Yuseong District, Daejeon.
The number of applicants for this interview test is the largest since the National Fire Agency's structured interview was introduced. The hiring scale was expanded to fill shortages in the field.
Based on the comprehensive aptitude test taken earlier, the interview test is conducted in two stages: a presentation interview and a personality interview.
Considering that applicants are coming from across the country, the National Fire Agency decided to deploy shuttle buses from Daejeon Station, Daejeon Integrated Terminal, and Government Complex Station to the test site. It will also offer lodging discounts to applicants in collaboration with the Daejeon Tourism Organization.
A system will also be introduced to issue an "on-site registration card" after identity verification on the spot for test-takers who did not bring their admission ticket.
National Fire Agency Commissioner Kim Seung-ryong said, "Because firefighters carry out duties directly tied to the lives of the public on the front lines of disaster sites, we will fairly select talent with the right view of public service and excellent situational judgment."
