Kim Gyeong-il, known as a leading cognitive psychologist in Korea, will give a special lecture for Parents' Day in May.
Maeum Geongang Gil said on the 20th that Kim will give a special lecture from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 9 at SCC Hall Seocho in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
On that day, Kim will speak on the theme "Why are we more hurt by family?" In the lecture, Kim will analyze the psychological causes of recurring conflicts and misunderstandings between parents and children and present ways to restore healthy family relationships.
The lecture will consist of two sessions. A Q&A where participants can ask Kim questions directly is planned, along with a performance by Jeong Su-ji, head of the Ssum Meditation Center and a pianist.
The organizers said, "Because family is the closest presence, expectations and hurt inevitably grow," and added, "We hope this lecture will be an opportunity to reflect on parent-child relationships and understand each other."
The participation fee for the lecture is 25,000 won. A special price of 20,000 won applies for the first 100 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
