On Sunday the 19th, daytime highs nationwide will soar, bringing early-summer weather. Skies will be mostly clear across the country, but there is rain in some areas, including Jeju Island.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows will be 9–15 C and daytime highs will be 19–29 C. The daily temperature range will widen to around 15 C (around 20 C in the central inland).
By major city, morning lows are forecast to be Seoul 13 C, Incheon 13 C, Chuncheon 11 C, Gangneung 13 C, Daejeon 13 C, Daegu 14 C, Jeonju 15 C, Gwangju 14 C, Busan 15 C, and Jeju 16 C.
Daytime highs are expected to be Seoul 29 C, Incheon 25 C, Chuncheon 29 C, Gangneung 26 C, Daejeon 27 C, Daegu 24 C, Jeonju 25 C, Gwangju 23 C, Busan 20 C, and Jeju 19 C.
The country will be mostly clear, but Jeolla, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island will be mostly cloudy, with some areas seeing rain for two days through Monday the 20th. In particular, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning will fall mainly in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
Expected precipitation through the 20th: ▲ Seoul, eastern Gyeonggi less than 5 mm ▲ inland and mountainous Gangwon less than 5 mm ▲ Daejeon, Sejong, inland South Chungcheong, North Chungcheong less than 5 mm ▲ Gwangju, South Jeolla 5–10 mm ▲ inland North Jeolla less than 5 mm ▲ southern coast of South Gyeongsang, northern inland and northeastern mountains of North Gyeongsang less than 5 mm ▲ Jeju Island 30–80 mm (over 100 mm in many places in mountainous and southern mid-mountain areas).
At sea, strong winds with instantaneous speeds around 55 km/h will blow mainly along the south coast and Jeju Island. In the far outer waters south of Jeju Island, where a high seas warning is in effect, strong winds of 30–60 km/h will blow through the day, and waves will be high at 1.5–3.5 meters.
Fine dust levels will be between "good" and "moderate" in all regions.
