Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, said on the 16th that it will push job policies this year with a goal of creating 25,789 jobs. That is 578 more than last year's target of 25,211.
Yongin will pursue job policies centered on four strategies under the goal of "a city of shared, happy jobs, Yongin." The four strategies are: ▲ strengthening job infrastructure ▲ tailored job support by group ▲ building a sustainable job environment ▲ creating jobs in regionally specialized flagship industries.
To that end, it plans to strengthen job infrastructure to resolve supply-demand imbalances between employers and job seekers and to bolster local employment services. Centered on the Job Center and the Women's New Employment Center, it will expand demand-driven job counseling, vocational training, and ad hoc and regular hiring events.
To provide tailored jobs by group and generation, it will also promote various customized job programs, including support for mid-to-late career life redesign, jobs for seniors and people with disabilities, and self-sufficiency work.
In particular, for young people, it plans to support employment by strengthening AI-based job-seeking competencies, youth internships, and administrative work experience for college students.
As a measure to build a sustainable job environment, it will strengthen talent development and support for corporations linked to the semiconductor industry, and expand industrial complexes and infrastructure to foster an advanced-industry ecosystem. It will also carry out projects to expand social overhead capital such as roads and railways in parallel to increase job creation in construction-related industries.
In addition to building an employment ecosystem centered on the semiconductor industry, the core growth axis, it plans to unearth jobs in regionally specialized industries by fostering advanced agriculture production complexes.
A Yongin city official said, "In line with this year's job project plan, we will strengthen employment infrastructure to provide quality jobs and craft job policies that citizens can feel," adding, "We will also work to ensure active private-sector job creation based on Yongin's characteristics, where advanced industries centered on the semiconductor sector and large-scale development projects are underway."
