A search team chasing "Neuk-gu," the wolf that escaped from the Daejeon O-World safari, spotted Neuk-gu but it ran off again before they could attempt a capture. It was the first time the team had found Neuk-gu in five days since on the 9th.
According to the Daejeon Fire Headquarters on the 14th, a report that a wolf was seen in Musudong, Jung-gu, Daejeon, came in to the fire authorities at about 10:40 p.m. on the previous day.
The search team was dispatched to the site and found Neuk-gu in a nearby low mountain. They tried to encircle it and, at about 6 a.m. on the 10th, attempted to capture it with a tranquilizer gun and a capture net.
But Neuk-gu ran away quickly before the capture net could close in. It broke through the cordon and escaped before the team could fire a tranquilizer gun or attempt the capture.
The search team is said to have recaptured Neuk-gu's location. They have mobilized about 60 people to form a human chain and are throwing a capture net around it again.
Neuk-gu escaped on the morning of the 8th by digging under the wire fence at the O-World safari. With Neuk-gu, whose whereabouts had been unknown for six days, found by the search team, expectations for its capture are growing.
