On the 12th in Ningbo, China, the women's singles final of the 2026 Badminton Asia Championships. World No. 1 Ahn Se-young (24, Samsung Life Insurance) roared after defeating world No. 2 Wang Zhiyi (25) by a game score of 2-1.
Ahn Se-young then pointed to the chest of her uniform toward the broadcast camera. The logo of Pilab Co. and the wording of the product "Le Pilab Meishin" were there, the official sponsor of the Badminton Korea Association.
According to Pilab on the 13th, with this victory Ahn Se-young climbed to the top of the Asian Championships following the Olympics, World Championships, and Asian Games, completing a "career Grand Slam" as the first Korean singles player. At the historic moment, Ahn effectively thanked the partner that has supported her.
Ahn Se-young won a gold medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games despite a torn knee ligament. Since then, she has undergone treatment and rehabilitation in parallel. In the BWF World Tour Finals last December, she also complained of thigh pain. A scene of Ahn stepping off the court to spray Le Pilab Meishin was captured on the broadcast.
Le Pilab Meishin is a recovery product developed with meishin, an oxidizing functional natural ingredient, as the main raw material. Meishin, a natural flavonoid compound, is known for strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in 2012 succeeded for the first time in the world in isolating and purifying meishin from centipedegrass, a type of warm-season turfgrass. Since then, it has secured a total of 18 patents related to meishin.
Pilab explained that a product developed with national technology is being used in the recovery process of national team athletes. Pilab CEO Lee Sang-yoon said, "We find it meaningful that a product based on the technological prowess of a national research institute can help manage the condition of national team athletes," and added, "We plan to continue supporting athletes so they can maintain stable performance."
