The search for the wolf "Neukgu," which escaped from Daejeon O-World, has entered a fifth day, but its whereabouts remain unknown.
According to Daejeon City on the 12th, search authorities including the fire department deployed 10 drones over the Bomunsan area the previous day for a detailed search but did not find Neukgu.
On the same day in Yongjeon-dong, Sajeong-dong, and Indong, seven reports came in saying "There is a wolf carcass" and "I saw a wolf," but all were confirmed to be mistaken reports.
Authorities plan to continue the search that day by deploying 11 vehicles during the day and 12 at night within a 6-kilometer radius of the escape point.
Neukgu disappeared on the morning of the 8th during pre-opening inspections at O-World. After confirming that one of about 20 wolves in the safari was missing, O-World reported it to Jung District in Daejeon and the fire department.
Neukgu is a male born in January 2024 and is 2 years old. He weighs about 30 kilograms, similar in size to a large dog like a Malamute.
