Over the weekend, the country will be mostly cloudy with large temperature swings between day and night.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 11th, as cold air flows in on northwesterly winds, morning temperatures fell by 5–10 degrees from the day before.
However, daytime temperatures will rise sharply under the influence of high pressure, widening the gap between day and night to around 15 degrees, especially in the southern interior. The daytime high is forecast at 16–23 degrees.
On the 12th, the morning low is forecast at 3–11 degrees and the daytime high at 18–24 degrees. The diurnal temperature range is expected to expand to around 20 degrees, centered on inland areas.
Inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon saw light rain on the morning of the 11th, and rain is forecast for the South Jeolla south coast and Jeju on the 12th.
Meanwhile, there is a chance of yellow dust moving in over the weekend, mainly in western regions, so caution is advised for respiratory health. This round of yellow dust is expected to originate from the Gobi Desert and move to the Korean Peninsula on northwesterly winds.
