It has been four days since the wolf "Neukgu" escaped from Daejeon O-World on the 8th, but its whereabouts remain unclear.
According to Daejeon City and the fire headquarters on the 11th, Neukgu was not found in a nighttime drone search focused on the low hills near O-World the previous day.
Neukgu was last sighted at about 1:30 a.m. on the 9th. During the nighttime drone search, Neukgu was detected by a thermal imaging camera but then disappeared.
Afterward, as rain fell and weather conditions worsened, the drone search also failed to find Neukgu. The search team suspects Neukgu either dug a burrow and hid or did not show up properly on the thermal imaging camera because of the rain.
With the weather improving again that day, Daejeon City and fire authorities are continuing the search by deploying about 90 personnel and around 10 drones.
After sunset, the plan is to focus on nighttime drone searches. However, if search personnel are deployed directly, Neukgu could be startled and run away, so they plan to make active use of drones and thermal imaging cameras.
If Neukgu is found, they plan to drive it toward a base area and attempt capture without provoking it so it does not leave the zone.
