According to the Oil Price Information System Opinet, as of 9 a.m. that day, the national average gasoline price was up 1.8 won from the previous day. At the same time, diesel rose 1.5 won to 1,984.2 won.
By region, Seoul was 2,024.0 won per L, up 1.3 won from the previous day. Diesel was tallied at 2,009.6 won, up 1.0 won. Fuel prices in Seoul are still on the rise, but the pace of increase slowed from the day before.
Gasoline in Gyeonggi was 1,996.4 won, up 1.46 won from the previous day. Jeju Island recorded 2,029.4 won, the highest in the country.
The oil price ceiling is a system that caps refiners' supply prices to gas stations and is set in two-week increments. After the first implementation on the 13th of last month, the second price was announced on the 27th, followed by the third implementation on the 10th.
