A Chinese national who stabbed an acquaintance with a weapon at an arcade and fled has been sent to prosecutors in custody.
According to police on the 10th, the Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul referred a Chinese man in his 50s, identified as A, to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
A is accused of arguing with an acquaintance at an arcade in Geumcheon District, Seoul, at about 1 p.m. on the 5th and then fleeing after stabbing the acquaintance in the abdomen with a weapon.
Police who responded to the report arrested A near the arcade in about 20 minutes. A was found to be an undocumented immigrant during the police investigation.
The victim at the time suffered a laceration about 5 centimeters long to the abdomen and was taken to a nearby hospital. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
On the 7th, the Seoul Southern District Court issued a warrant to detain A, citing concerns that A might flee.
