Actor Song Joong-ki on the 8th (local time) joined Im Sung-jae as a caddie in the Par 3 Contest for the men's golf major "2026 Masters" at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, United States. The Par 3 Contest is an event held the day before the Masters opener that has continued since 1960, with players' family members or acquaintances accompanying them as caddies. Family or acquaintances sometimes take shots in place of the player.
Song Joong-ki wore a green cap emblazoned with the Masters logo and a white outfit with caddie number "47" and played nine holes with Im Sung-jae. Im is competing in the Masters for the seventh straight year this year.
Song Joong-ki took the tee shot on the final ninth hole instead of Im Sung-jae. The ball fell in the rough left of the green, but Im left the finish to Song through the end. After the Par 3 Contest, Song said, "It ended in a blur. My legs are still shaking. Having tried it myself, players feel even more admirable."
World No. 1 in men's golf Scottie Scheffler and last year's Masters champion Rory McIlroy took part in the Par 3 Contest with their children. Kim Si-woo, returning to the Masters after two years, participated with his wife Oh Ji-hyun, who has seven wins on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.
