A wolf escaped at the Daejeon O-World zoo in Sajung-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. Zoo officials, police, and fire authorities are currently searching for the wolf.
On Apr. 8, according to Daejeon City and the Daejeon Fire Headquarters, at about 9:30 a.m. that day, one wolf escaped from the Daejeon O-World wolf safari.
Authorities received the first report at about 10:10 a.m. and deployed a rescue team of about 10 people at about 10:24 a.m. to search inside Daejeon O-World. O-World officials believe the wolf is inside the zoo, and visitor entry has been temporarily blocked.
Daejeon City also sent an emergency text message that day saying, "One wolf escaped from O-World; we are searching and attempting capture inside the zoo. Visitors and nearby residents, please take care to stay safe."
Earlier, in September 2018, one puma escaped from Daejeon O-World and was eventually shot dead.
