A man in his 40s who habitually assaulted his wife and forced her to do "push-up position" for an hour, among other cruel acts, has been arrested.
On the 8th, according to police and others, the Eumseong Police Station in North Chungcheong Province arrested a man in his 40s, identified as A, on charges of assault, coercion, and violating the Act on the Punishment of Domestic Violence.
A is accused of habitually assaulting his wife, B, from last year until recently. On the 19th of last month, he assaulted her because there was a bone in samgyeopsal, and then forced her to stay in the push-up position for an hour.
In addition, even though the wife entered a temporary shelter and the husband was under restraining and no-contact orders within 100 meters, he contacted her hundreds of times. He even filed a false report saying "my wife has disappeared" to determine her whereabouts.
Police reportedly also sought an arrest warrant, considering that A had three prior domestic violence records and tried to wrap up the investigation by mentally controlling his wife (gaslighting).
