A wolf that escaped from the Daejeon O-World zoo in Sajung-dong, Jung District, Daejeon, was found in downtown Daejeon. Police and fire authorities searched for the wolf together and urged caution from residents.
According to Daejeon City and the Daejeon Fire Headquarters on the 8th, a wolf escaped from the Daejeon O-World wolf safari at about 9:30 a.m. that day.
Police and fire authorities received the first report at about 10:10 a.m. and deployed around 10 rescue workers at about 10:24 a.m. to search inside Daejeon O-World. They had determined that the wolf likely had not left the zoo.
However, the search found that the wolf went outside O-World at about 11:30 a.m. The search command post was moved from O-World to Sanseong Elementary School, and the tracking is underway again.
Through an emergency text alert, Daejeon City said, "The wolf that escaped from O-World has been confirmed to have gone to the O-World four-way intersection," and added, "Residents nearby, please be mindful of safety."
