SM Entertainment apologized after an accident in which a safety fence installed in the stands collapsed during a Super Junior concert, causing an audience member to fall.
SM Entertainment said on the 6th, "The injured were immediately taken to the hospital and received examinations and treatment," and added, "Medical staff said sprains and contusions require two weeks of rest and treatment. We extend our deepest apologies to those harmed by this accident and their families."
The accident occurred on the 5th at Super Junior's 20th‑anniversary debut concert at KSPO Dome in Songpa, Seoul (formerly the Olympic Gymnastics Arena). During the encore, when member Ryeowook approached the stands, audience members moved closer and the safety fence collapsed. In the process, three audience members fell and were injured.
SM Entertainment said, "We will support treatment so the injured audience members can make a full recovery, and we will do our best until they are completely healed," and added, "As the concert organizer, we fully recognize our heavy responsibility for this accident, and we will make every effort to conduct facility safety inspections and manage audience safety to prevent a recurrence."
